Folder Atelier X does not collect personal data. There is no account, no advertising, no tracking and no analytics. What you design and save stays on your Mac.

What the app stores on your Mac

  • your designs, settings and rules,

  • the list of folders you have styled (path, name, time, design used),

  • backups of the icons your folders had before, so you can restore them,

  • the folder permissions you have granted the app (so-called bookmarks of macOS).

This data stays exclusively in the app’s protected area on your Mac. It is not transferred to us or to third parties, and we cannot see it. When you delete the app you can delete this data too; you remove single entries in the app under “Applied”.

Folders and pictures

The app only accesses folders that you choose yourself, drag into its window or explicitly allow. Pictures you add are processed on your Mac. Automatic cut-out uses the image recognition of macOS directly on your device.

Internet

The app does not connect to our servers and does not download content. Links, for example to our website, open in your browser, where the privacy notices of that website apply.

App Store and Apple

Purchase, download and updates run through Apple’s App Store. Apple processes data under its own privacy policy. If you have agreed in System Settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple provides us with aggregated statistics and anonymised crash reports. We cannot identify you from them.

This website

These pages run on the Squarespace platform. When you visit, your browser necessarily transmits data such as your IP address, date and time, the page requested and the browser type. Squarespace processes this data on our behalf to deliver and protect the website and may set cookies for this. Squarespace is based in the USA, so data may also be processed there. Details are in Squarespace’s privacy policy.

If you write to us

We use your details only to answer your request and delete them once they are no longer needed for that, unless the law requires us to keep them.

Your rights

Under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to restrict processing, to data portability and to object. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; in Switzerland this is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC). As the app collects no personal data, in practice this only concerns your e-mails to us.

California and other places

We do not sell or share personal information, including within the meaning of the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA). The app collects no data from children either.

Changes

When the app changes we update this policy. The current version in the app and on our website applies.
